Honda by MARKH (Markh Investments) is recruiting qualified finance professionals for two positions based in Kampala, Uganda: Accountant and Accounts Assistant. The Finance Department is seeking diligent individuals to support daily financial operations, accounting compliance, transaction processing, and fiscal reporting across the organization.

The Accountant position requires extensive experience in financial management, cost control, budget oversight, and audit support. The Accounts Assistant position focuses primarily on routine transaction processing, petty cash management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations, making it ideal for entry-level accounting talent. Successful candidates will join a dynamic finance team committed to organizational growth, strong internal controls, and accuracy in financial reporting.

We are currently recruiting a Accountant & Accounts Assistant at Honda by MARKH (Markh Investments) based in Kampala, Uganda to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, work closely with colleagues across departments, and contribute to the continued success of the organisation. Key Responsibilities

Accountant Responsibilities:
Manage daily financial operations, cost control, and profitability analysis.
Prepare and monitor organizational budgets.
Oversee payroll processing, statutory deductions, and bank transfers.
Handle invoice issuance, cash management, and bank reconciliations.
Manage tax ledger reconciliation and ensure full statutory compliance.
Reconcile general ledger and intercompany accounts.
Provide comprehensive support for internal and external audits.
Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:
Perform daily transaction recording and reconciliations.
Manage petty cash, including voucher review, periodic counts, and replenishment applications.
Handle cash receipts, verifying amounts, recording, and matching with invoices.
Manage bank accounts, obtain statements, reconcile items, and track unresolved items.
Post accounts payable and receivable, perform invoice entry, payment allocation, statement preparation, and aging analysis.
Maintain proper document filing and assist with month-end financial reporting support.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related academic discipline.
Professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA (completed or in progress) is preferred.
3–5 years of relevant accounting work experience for the Accountant position.
Entry-level accounting knowledge and basic financial transaction skills for the Accounts Assistant position.
Proficiency in accounting systems, ERP software tools, and Microsoft Excel.
