Job Description

As part of the Operations Department, the Area Sales Manager is responsible for the management, training, and development of several branches offering optical services in Uganda. The role involves traveling across the territory to visit and supervise different branches.

The Area Manager will work under the supervision of the Operations Manager and interact with various company departments. They directly supervise and manage Branch Managers and their teams of sales representatives and eye specialists, organizing and developing sales activities in line with company policies and targets. The primary goal is to increase the profits of all branches in their area.

An opportunity has arisen for a Area Sales Manager - Uganda at Lapaire based in Kampala, Uganda.

Working within a supportive team, the post-holder will be expected to plan and prioritise their own workload, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and maintain high standards in every task. Previous experience in a comparable position is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of the territory, Lapaire's products, and customer needs.
Increase brand awareness and educate potential customers about vision health.
Lead, train, and inspire Branch Managers and their teams.
Motivate sales teams to meet and exceed sales targets.
Monitor branch performance and provide solutions to achieve sales objectives.
Implement sales strategies and action plans in coordination with the Marketing team.
Support the development and opening of new branches.
Ensure compliance with company policies, including branch maintenance, staff appearance, and financial management.
Conduct regular audits and supervise stock management.
Handle customer, supplier, and delivery staff complaints.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a business/retail setting.
Previous experience in store, team, and business management is required.
Proficiency in accounting and analysis software (Excel, CRMs, etc.).
Customer service-oriented with knowledge of basic business management processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
