An opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager at Sanku-PHC based in Kampala.

Working within a supportive team, the post-holder will be expected to plan and prioritise their own workload, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and maintain high standards in every task. Previous experience in a comparable position is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and prospect new miller customers, understand their business needs, and build lasting partnerships.
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve targets and expand the customer base.
Train millers on fortification practices, support dosifier installation, and provide first-line troubleshooting.
Coordinate with Government Relations, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams to ensure timely product delivery.
Engage government officials and regulators to support fortification priorities and advocacy efforts.
Collect and analyze market data to inform business strategies and identify growth opportunities.
Monitor sales performance, competitor activity, and market conditions, providing insights for improvement.
Run pilot projects and support new business opportunities, including regular travel to field locations.

Qualifications

4+ years of relevant work experience in Business Development or Sales in Food Processing, Agriculture, Fortification, or related fields.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or any related field.
Experience managing sales and setting sales strategies for rural and peri-urban markets.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute data-driven business plans.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
Practical technical aptitude for basic dosifier installation and troubleshooting.
Ability to engage government officials and support advocacy efforts.
Valid driving license and ability to drive a manual-transmission vehicle safely.
