Job Description

Partunify is seeking a highly experienced Credit Manager to lead its credit function. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the growth of the loan portfolio, overseeing the entire credit lifecycle from appraisal to recovery, and leading a team of credit professionals. The role requires a strategic leader who can balance aggressive portfolio growth with maintaining strict quality and compliance standards.

We are currently recruiting a Credit Manager at Partunify based in Head Office, Ntinda / Bugolobi, Uganda to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, work closely with colleagues across departments, and contribute to the continued success of the organisation. This role suits someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Growth: Grow the loan portfolio across all branches against set targets.
Credit Appraisal & Approval: Oversee the credit appraisal, approval, and disbursement processes.
Risk Management: Keep Portfolio at Risk (PAR), write-offs, and credit losses within approved limits.
Collections & Recovery: Own the collections and recovery of overdue loans.
Team Leadership: Lead and coach Senior Credit Supervisors and Credit Relationship Officers.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with credit policy, UMRA (Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority) regulations, KYC (Know Your Customer), and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or Microfinance.
Minimum 6+ years of experience in credit, lending, or banking.
At least 3+ years in a leadership/management role.
Proven track record of portfolio growth with quality (maintaining low default rates).
Strong experience in appraisal, monitoring, collections, and recovery.
Knowledge of Tier 4 microfinance and money lender regulation in Uganda.
Strong Excel and LoanDisk software skills.
Willingness to travel to all branches.
