Job Description
Nakaseke District Service Commission is hiring a full-time Dietician to work in Nakaseke District. The role is based in the Health Services department, reporting directly to the District Health Officer. The Dietician will provide professional dietary and nutritional services across health facilities within the district.
This position suits someone with a qualification in nutrition or dietetics and experience in a clinical or public health setting. Familiarity with Ugandan health systems and community nutrition programs is essential. The Dietician will work closely with healthcare teams, including nurses, doctors, and health educators, to develop and implement nutrition plans for patients and communities.
Daily tasks include assessing patients' nutritional needs, creating meal plans, educating individuals and groups on healthy eating, and monitoring progress. The role also involves training health workers on nutrition topics and participating in district health initiatives. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in resource-limited settings are key.
The Dietician will be expected to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and collaborate with stakeholders to improve nutrition outcomes in Nakaseke District. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or related field
- Registration with the Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council
- At least 2 years of working experience in a similar role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
