Job Description
An Enrolled Midwife is needed for a full-time role based in Nakaseke. The employer is not named in the original post. This position falls under the U7 Med department, with the reference number NSK/DSC/27/2026.
The role suits someone with a recognized midwifery qualification and experience in maternal and child health. Familiarity with Ugandan healthcare protocols is essential. The Enrolled Midwife will work alongside nurses, doctors, and community health workers to provide antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care.
Daily tasks include conducting antenatal check-ups, assisting in deliveries, and offering postpartum support. The midwife will also educate expectant mothers on pregnancy care, breastfeeding, and child health. They will maintain patient records, ensure infection control, and refer complex cases to higher-level facilities when necessary.
This position requires someone who is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication skills are vital, as the midwife will interact with patients, families, and colleagues. Experience in rural or underserved areas is an advantage, as the role is based in Nakaseke.
The Enrolled Midwife will report to the facility's nursing officer and collaborate with other healthcare providers to improve maternal and child health outcomes. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering essential midwifery services in a community setting.
