The Uganda Heart Institute (UHI) is seeking a qualified Epidemiologist to join their team in Kampala. This role is part of a larger recruitment drive for 91 vacancies across clinical, technical, and administrative categories. The successful candidate will contribute to the institute's mission of coordinating the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Uganda.

We are currently recruiting a Epidemiologist at Uganda Heart Institute (UHI) based in Mulago, Kampala to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, work closely with colleagues across departments, and contribute to the continued success of the organisation. This role suits someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct epidemiological research and analysis related to cardiovascular diseases
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement public health strategies
Analyze data to identify trends and risk factors associated with cardiovascular diseases
Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders and policymakers
Support the development of prevention and treatment programs

Qualifications

Advanced degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field
Proven experience in epidemiological research and data analysis
Strong knowledge of statistical software and data management tools
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Registration with relevant professional bodies (if applicable)
