Hilton Kampala will be the first Hilton hotel in Uganda, located in the heart of the city’s central business district within the landmark TWED Towers development. The 230-room property will offer a modern, upscale guest experience featuring five distinctive dining venues, extensive meeting and event facilities including a 432 sqm ballroom, a spa, fitness center, and an outdoor pool. With its prime Nakasero address surrounded by embassies, corporate offices, and key government institutions, Hilton Kampala is set to become a flagship destination for business, leisure, and MICE travellers in the capital.

Key Responsibilities

Lead with Hilton’s commitment to exceptional hospitality: Oversee all hotel operations to deliver warm, reliable, and hospitable service – ensuring every guest experience is seamless, consistent, and reflective of the brand’s high standards
Drive performance and profitability: Manage revenue, budgets, and cost controls to achieve financial targets while balancing operational efficiency with innovative guest experiences
Oversee property priorities: Lead capital projects, refurbishments, and service initiatives to maintain operational excellence and brand alignment
Set and execute strategic direction: Shape short- and long-term goals, making decisions in the best interests of the hotel, the Hilton brand, and Hilton’s long-term vision
Inspire and develop talent: Provide visionary leadership to the executive team and all Team Members, embedding Hilton’s values and fostering a team of passionate and creative professionals
Strengthen communication and collaboration: Hold regular briefings with the Heads of Department (HOD) team and maintain strong relationships with owners, auditors, and Hilton stakeholders to ensure alignment and accountability
Commit to continuous improvement: Uphold and exceed Hilton service standards, respond to audits proactively, and drive innovation and operational integrity across the business

Qualifications

Proven experience as a General Manager in a full-service hotel environment, a strong all-rounder with demonstrated strength across commercial and F&B performance
Passion for delivering memorable guest experiences that reflect the brand promise
Experience operating in emerging markets, preferably in Africa, driving performance in predominantly domestic markets while developing local teams
A track record of driving innovative commercial growth, particularly in food and beverage and MICE operations
Strong stakeholder management, especially engaging with delegations, embassies, UN agencies, and corporate clients
Highly visible leadership style that builds strong teams, partnerships, and networks
Strong business acumen in budget management, revenue forecasting, and strategic planning
Resilience, sound judgment, and the ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution
Degree or diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent
Fluency in English (spoken and written)
