Job Description

The role is focused on leading the management accounting function to provide financial insights, reporting, and decision support within the manufacturing sector. Based in Kampala, Uganda, the position reports directly to the Chief Finance Officer and involves close collaboration with various departments to drive financial strategy and operational efficiency.

An opportunity has arisen for a Manager – Management Accounting based in Kampala, Uganda.

Working within a supportive team, the post-holder will be expected to plan and prioritise their own workload, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and maintain high standards in every task. Previous experience in a comparable position is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts and analyze variances against budgets.
Develop KPIs and dashboards, presenting insights to the CFO and Executive Team.
Coordinate annual budgets and strategic planning, prepare rolling forecasts.
Conduct profitability analysis by product, customer, and segment.
Oversee product costing and cost allocations, reviewing material, labour, and overhead costs.
Provide financial evaluation for capital expenditure and strategic initiatives.
Drive utilization of SAP Management Accounting modules and strengthen reporting automation.
Ensure compliance with Group policies and support internal audits.
Partner with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to support commercial decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
Professional Qualification: CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
Minimum 15 years' finance experience, with at least 5 years in a management accounting role within manufacturing.
Strong understanding of costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is essential.
