Job Description

The consultant will independently assess how effectively SASA! Together shifted gender-equitable social norms, balanced relationship power dynamics, and reduced intimate partner violence across the three target districts, evaluating its four phases (Start, Awareness, Support, Action) and strategies of local activism, community leadership, and institutional strengthening in line with UN Women Evaluation Policy and UNEG Norms.

We are currently recruiting a National Consultant to Evaluate the SASA! Together Strategy at UN Women based in Kampala, Uganda to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, work closely with colleagues across departments, and contribute to the continued success of the organisation. This role suits someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Independently assess the effectiveness of the SASA! Together strategy in shifting gender-equitable social norms
Evaluate the impact on balancing relationship power dynamics and reducing intimate partner violence
Analyze the implementation of the four phases (Start, Awareness, Support, Action) across target districts
Assess the strategies of local activism, community leadership, and institutional strengthening
Ensure evaluation aligns with UN Women Evaluation Policy and UNEG Norms

Qualifications

Proven experience in gender-based violence program evaluation
Strong understanding of gender-equitable social norms and relationship dynamics
Familiarity with UN Women Evaluation Policy and UNEG Norms
Experience in community-based program assessment
Excellent analytical and reporting skills
