Job Description

African Youth Action Network (AYAN) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Lead to oversee supply chain operations, purchasing activities, and vendor management in Kampala, with travel to field locations across Uganda. The Procurement Lead will play a vital role in ensuring efficient, transparent, and fully compliant procurement processes across all organizational programs.

In this position, you will lead end-to-end procurement functions, ranging from sourcing and competitive bidding to contract negotiations, supplier performance evaluation, and inventory oversight. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will enforce strict compliance standards, optimize resource allocation, and support AYAN's mission with timely, cost-effective supply chain solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee end-to-end procurement operations, ensuring adherence to competitive bidding, compliance, and cost-efficiency standards.
Manage vendor contracts, lead negotiations, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Coordinate purchasing schedules and supply delivery across Kampala and regional field locations.
Ensure full alignment with internal organizational policies, compliance requirements, and non-profit governance standards.
Monitor logistics and conduct periodic field assessments to ensure seamless program execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field.
At least 5 years of procurement experience.
Familiar with competitive bidding, contract management, and compliance processes.
Experience in non-profit organizations is preferred.
