Job Description

The Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) is seeking dedicated and qualified Program Officers to support its public health interventions and medical research initiatives in the Acholi region. In this position, you will play a critical role in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring project activities designed to improve clinical outcomes and community health service delivery. Working closely with district health teams, health facility staff, and local community stakeholders, the Program Officer ensures project activities align with organizational standards and health sector priorities.

The successful candidates will oversee day-to-day project operations, facilitate capacity building for healthcare workers, and contribute to systematic data collection and technical reporting. Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health program activities across target facilities in the Acholi region.
Collaborate with district health authorities and local leaders to improve healthcare delivery and community participation.
Provide continuous mentorship and technical support to health facility personnel and community health workers.
Manage program data collection, routine reporting, and data quality assessments to track project outcomes.
Organize and facilitate capacity-building workshops, training sessions, and continuous professional development for field teams.
Ensure all project interventions adhere to ethical clinical standards and national health guidelines.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, Social Sciences, or a related healthcare discipline.
Proven experience in public health programming, clinical research support, or health project management.
Demonstrated understanding of Uganda's healthcare systems, district structures, and community health frameworks.
Strong technical reporting, analytical, and data monitoring skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
