Job Description

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a Protection Specialist to be seconded in Yumbe, Uganda. The role involves working on GBV prevention and response, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable populations.

You will join an existing team, so learning how things are already done will be your first task. After that, you will be expected to carry your own workload and suggest improvements where you see them.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement GBV prevention and response strategies
Conduct assessments and provide support to survivors of GBV
Collaborate with local authorities and partner organizations
Monitor and evaluate program activities to ensure effectiveness
Provide training and capacity building to staff and community members

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in social work, development studies, or related field
5 years of experience in GBV prevention and response
Strong understanding of protection principles and international standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment
