Job Description

A medical facility in Kyamuhunga, Bushenyi district is seeking a qualified and dedicated Sonographer to conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations and deliver accurate imaging support to clinical personnel.

The successful candidate will operate ultrasound diagnostic equipment, prepare patients for procedures, and evaluate sound wave images to assist physicians in medical diagnoses. This full-time role requires technical precision, strong patient care standards, and the flexibility to work evening and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic ultrasound scans according to established clinical protocols and quality standards.
Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while explaining the process to ensure patient comfort.
Analyze ultrasound images, summarize diagnostic findings, and submit timely reports to treating clinicians.
Operate, clean, and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure safety and optimal technical operational standards.
Maintain accurate patient records, document clinical notes, and ensure strict adherence to medical confidentiality.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound, Radiography, or Sonography from a recognized institution.
Valid practicing license and registration with the relevant Allied Health Professionals body.
Hands-on practical experience in performing general and specialized ultrasound examinations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
Ability to work long hours, including weekends, in a fast-paced medical environment.
