The Uganda Heart Institute (UHI) is seeking a Theatre Attendant to join their team in Mulago, Kampala. This role is part of a larger recruitment drive with 91 vacancies across clinical, technical, and administrative categories. The Theatre Attendant will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of the theatre environment.

We are currently recruiting a Theatre Attendant at Uganda Heart Institute (UHI) based in Mulago, Kampala to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, work closely with colleagues across departments, and contribute to the continued success of the organisation. This role suits someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing the operating theatre for surgical procedures
Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order
Support the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
Maintain a clean and sterile environment before, during, and after surgeries
Assist in the transportation of patients to and from the operating theatre

Qualifications

UCE (O-Level) with at least a credit in English
Certificate in a relevant field such as Healthcare Assistance or Theatre Operations
Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a surgical environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in fast-paced situations
