Kabale University invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and distinguished individuals for the position of Vice Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor serves as the University’s chief executive, providing overall academic and administrative leadership, and ensuring the effective management of human and financial resources in accordance with the law, University Regulations, and the University’s Strategic Plan.

Our organisation is seeking a suitably qualified Vice Chancellor at Kabale University based in Kikungiri Campus, Plot 364 Kikungiri Hill, Kabale Municipality, Kabale.

Key Responsibilities

Spearhead and coordinate the development and review of policies, strategic plans, budgets, and interventions for university growth and excellence.
Maintain efficiency, effectiveness, and good governance as the Chief Executive.
Lead the implementation of strategic management plans and Council decisions.
Direct and supervise the Senior Management Team, monitoring performance against targets.
Mobilize resources for policy, plan, and program implementation.
Oversee resource allocation to academic and administrative units.
Represent the University’s position to the Council and ensure staff and student discipline.
Chair the Senate and implement its decisions.
Act as the University’s external representative and key spokesperson.

Qualifications

Earned Ph.D. from a reputable university.
Rank of at least Associate Professor.
Minimum 10 years of scholarship, administration, teaching, and public service.
Strong research, publication, and postgraduate supervision record.
Minimum 5 years of senior university leadership (Dean/Director level).
Proven strategic planning, policy development, and financial management skills.
Experience in international partnerships and resource mobilization.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
