Nakaseke District Service Commission is hiring an Assistant Nursing Officer (Midwifery) to work full-time in Nakaseke District. This role falls under the Health Services department, reporting directly to the Senior Nursing Officer. The primary responsibility is to deliver midwifery and nursing care in health facilities managed by the district.
The Assistant Nursing Officer will handle antenatal and postnatal care, assist in deliveries, and provide emergency obstetric care. They will also conduct health education sessions for expectant mothers and families, manage patient records, and collaborate with other healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive care. This position requires working in a team with doctors, clinical officers, and other nurses to maintain high standards of patient care.
This role suits someone with a diploma in nursing and midwifery, registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council. Experience in a busy health facility, particularly in rural settings, is advantageous. The candidate should be able to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
Day-to-day tasks include monitoring maternal and neonatal health, administering medications, and assisting in surgical procedures related to obstetrics. The officer will also participate in community outreach programs to improve maternal and child health outcomes in Nakaseke District. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to public health are essential for this position.
