Responsible for product launches and marketing for the electric mobility business. Develop and execute marketing plans based on rider needs, product features, and sales channels to increase brand awareness, test rides, and sales conversions. The role requires hands-on fieldwork, channel research, strong execution, media relations, and external stakeholder coordination.

We are currently recruiting a EV Product Marketing Manager at StarTimes to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, work closely with colleagues across departments, and contribute to the continued success of the organisation. Key Responsibilities

Product Positioning and Launches: Define product positioning, target customers, key selling points, and go-to-market plans. Coordinate product launches, campaign schedules, and communication across channels.
Market and Customer Research: Monitor petrol and electric motorcycle brands, including their products, pricing, financing options, battery-swapping services, and marketing activities. Engage directly with riders to understand purchase concerns and usage needs, recommend improvements to products and commercial policies, and support implementation.
Integrated Marketing Execution: Plan and execute roadshows, test rides, rider recruitment, store and battery-swapping station promotions, outdoor advertising, social media campaigns, and influencer partnerships to drive awareness, product experience, enquiries, and purchases.
Public Relations and Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, industry organizations, rider associations, and relevant partners. Secure interviews, media coverage, and joint activities. Prepare press releases, interview talking points, and external communications, and support reputation and issues management.
Sales and Channel Support: Work with sales, regional, and service teams to develop product presentations, sales scripts, competitor comparisons, and training materials that support customer acquisition and conversion.
Budget and Performance Management: Manage the business's marketing budget and execution timelines. Track leads, test rides, sales conversions, and customer acquisition costs. Regularly review results and optimize resource allocation.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
3-5+ years of experience in product marketing, brand management, or field marketing (experience in FMCG, automotive, or tech/e-mobility is a huge plus).
Strong data analysis (tracking leads and conversion costs), PR/Media relations experience, and the ability to work with sales teams.
English is required; knowing local languages (like Luganda) is highly advantageous for engaging with riders.
