Job Description

The Human Resources Officer at UGAFODE will coordinate recruitment, staff induction, performance management, and employee relations. The role involves managing staff training, career development, and handling grievances. Based in Kampala, this is a 3-year contract position reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager.

We are currently recruiting a Human Resources Officer at UGAFODE based in Kampala to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, work closely with colleagues across departments, and contribute to the continued success of the organisation. This role suits someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate recruitment and selection processes
Develop and implement staff induction and orientation programs
Manage performance, staff training, and career advancement plans
Handle employee grievances and disciplinary cases
Issue daily arrears notices and follow up with clients
Discuss debt repayment plans with defaulting clients
Respond to queries regarding loan balances
Check for security perfection on non-performing accounts
Conduct daily monitoring of delinquent accounts

Qualifications

Honors Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Arts, Commerce, or Business Administration (with a bias in HRM or Organizational Development)
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
Basic understanding of the legal framework
Thorough knowledge of UGAFODE credit policies
Decision-making skills, high integrity, credit and financial analysis skills, and strong negotiation abilities
