Kakira Sugar is recruiting a Supervisor-Audit to work full-time at their operations in Uganda. The position sits within the internal audit department, focusing on financial compliance, payment verification, and revenue tracking across factory operations, outgrower schemes, and corporate expenses.

On a regular day, you will review payment vouchers, payroll records, procurement files, and revenue receipts to confirm all financial transactions follow company policies. You will check that every invoice, receipt, and approval slip is attached before funds leave the accounts. Working alongside accounting clerks, store managers, and department heads, you will spot gaps in internal controls, audit routine transactions, and prepare clear audit findings for senior managers.

This position suits a qualified accountant or internal auditor holding a degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Finance, ideally with CPA or ACCA credentials. Previous experience checking financial records in manufacturing, sugar production, or large-scale agro-processing in East Africa helps enormously, especially if you know how to handle high-volume transaction testing and stock counts.

The work requires strong attention to detail, firmness when enforcing policy, and standard computer literacy for auditing spreadsheets and ERP systems. You will report directly to senior audit management while spending time on the ground at operational sites across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

Checking arithmetic accuracy of transactions and coding of accounts in accordance with the chart of accounts.
Checking on the balance of suppliers and customers and ensuring that they agreement with the statements.
Occasionally carrying out investigations on specific assignments of suspected cases of fraud and making reports or recommendations to the deputy Manager- Internal Audit or other superiors as soon as possible.
