Translate spoken and written content from English to Luganda and Lumasaba. The ability to do voice-overs is an added advantage.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Translator proficient in English, Luganda, and Lumasaba to support accurate content localization and translation projects in Mbale. In this role, you will be responsible for converting written documents and spoken audio from English into Luganda and Lumasaba while preserving the original context, tone, and meaning.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional command of grammar and vocabulary across all three languages, combined with strong time management skills to ensure timely delivery of assigned materials. Candidates with experience in audio narration or voice-over recording are highly encouraged to apply.

We are currently recruiting a Translator (English to Luganda and Lumasaba) based in Plot 2 Namakwekwe lane, Mbale City to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, work closely with colleagues across departments, and contribute to the continued success of the organisation. This role suits someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Translate written materials and documents accurately from English into Luganda and Lumasaba.
Translate spoken audio content and maintain the original tone, context, and meaning.
Provide voice-over recordings for translated scripts where required.
Review and proofread translated texts to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness.

Qualifications

Proven fluency and practical expertise in English, Luganda, and Lumasaba.
Strong background in written and spoken translation.
Ability to conduct voice-overs is considered an added advantage.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
