Job Description

The Cookstove Project Uganda, a non-profit charitable organization focused on clean cookstoves, is seeking a Senior Programme Officer to join their team in Kisoga, Mukono District. This full-time leadership role involves ensuring field quality and delivery, managing data and reporting, leading and mentoring teams, and supporting the Country Director in achieving organizational goals.

Our organisation is seeking a suitably qualified Senior Programme Officer at The Cookstove Project Uganda based in Katosi Road, Kisoga Town Council, Mukono.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure production targets are met without compromising quality
Monitor trainer effectiveness in educating households on stove usage and maintenance
Conduct quality checks and field visits to oversee project implementation
Prepare accurate field and monthly reports for the Country Director and donors
Mentor and support staff, conduct performance reviews, and translate organizational goals into actionable plans
Assist the Country Director in planning and executing organizational objectives
Act on behalf of the Country Director in their absence

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Psychology, or related field
Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management (advantageous)
At least 5 years of senior management experience with NGOs or development agencies
Experience managing donor-funded projects
Field experience managing community-based projects
Understanding of Uganda’s NGO regulatory environment
Fluency in English and Luganda
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Valid driving permit (advantageous)
Willingness to travel regularly to rural field sites
