Job Description

Responsible for proactive management of borrowing accounts showing early signs of deteriorating trends and non-performing accounts to turn them around, improve performance, and minimize financial loss. Duties include issuing arrears notices, scheduling repayment plans, responding to customer queries, checking collateral security perfection, and ensuring timely cash flow capturing in the system.

As a Recovery Support Officer at UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI), you will play a key role in safeguarding portfolio quality and driving credit risk management strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with credit and recovery teams to engage borrowers, evaluate loan performance, and negotiate structured workout options that align with financial recovery goals.

We are currently recruiting a Recovery Support Officers at UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively manage borrowing accounts showing early signs of deteriorating trends and non-performing accounts to turn them around, improve performance, and minimize financial loss.
Issue arrears notices to defaulting and non-performing account holders.
Schedule and negotiate workable repayment plans with clients.
Respond promptly and effectively to customer queries regarding account status and repayments.
Check collateral security perfection to ensure adequate institutional protection.
Ensure timely and accurate cash flow capturing in the banking system.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Business Administration or equivalent.
At least 2 years' experience in debt recovery, credit officer, or credit administration roles.
